Podcast: 2018 Year Ahead

January 22, 2018

Blue and White — Francis Cadell

Blue and White — Francis Cadell

I spent a fun afternoon with my chum fellow astrologer Sally Kirkman last week talking about how the planets look in 2018 for your Sun or Rising sign.

We realised that chatting together led us to some interesting insights — including the notion that it’s going to be quite a year for Aquarians as well as Capricorns, and that we’re going to see a lot of Chiron action.

We enjoyed ourselves so much that I think we’ll be doing it again, starting at the spring equinox. See if you can figure out who’s the Scorpio and who’s the Pisces from our chat.

Please have a listen. It’s about half an hour. Click here to hear it on SoundCloud.

Great podcast. Very easy listening and well timed at around 30mins – the Goldilocks length!

Very relevant to me … I was born in ’71 … Mars had its Aquarius retro cycle that year and the North Node was in there too. And Jupiter was in my 7H Scorpio so got my 4th return later this year.

Uranus in Aries has been transiting my 12H since 2011 and I’ve been hiding away and liberating myself from the attachments of life. This summer it stations within minutes of my Ascendant and will cross it for sure next year. I’m ready to get back out there and be the new me.

But already this year Uranus has been a gamechanger. My dad died in the first week of January as it went direct. I’ve been going over to see my mum every day since and helping her. My old routines have been completely disrupted and in taking her shopping or making arrangements it’s moved me into new circles, new places and seeing new faces. I’ve also learned a lot about my family history, my family dynamics as well as contacting lots of emotion and memories of growing up. These are the final hits of Uranus to my 4H Leo sun/moon/venus along with a nodal half-return. You said in the podcast that the eclipses bring these sorts of things.

I’m looking forward to that the first ingress of Uranus into Taurus. If I learned anything from all the 12H transit, it’s that resistance is futile and ego doesn’t get me anywhere. I just have to go with the flow of the universe and take on whatever challenges it gives me.

Thank you. We’ll be doing more.

Uranus is an amazing, liberating force when it’s going well. I am really looking forward to seeing what happens in Taurus too.

Hi Christina thanks for this.
Two current events spring to mind, the death of the magnificent Ursula Le Guinn yesterday
and the sentencing of Larry Nassar today.

When I said 2018 will be the year of the Witch, I didnt think it would be quite so obvious.
Well I give you both Ursula and of course the whole MeToo movement, the 2nd Womens March but most explicitly of all – Judge Rosemarie Aquilina !
Amazing, she hits the mark on all counts, straight from central Archetype casting in the best possible way.
A combination of the good witch avenging angel and fairy godmother all rolled in one.
I cant find a birth date for her, but Im betting, as Im sure you are, that all the usual suspects are involved, Lillith included 😉

Thank you for sharing this brilliant clip. Yes she does! She also reminds me so much of the “witch” in Spirited Away.

These monthly horoscopes have been called "the most thorough and visually exciting" on the web -- by my Mum (just kidding). I can't remember who said that actually, but thanks. To see and read what we're talking about and to find out how to subscribe, click more below.

In order to fund this site, I will be charging from now on, but I'm sure you'll find the fee reasonable. Obviously, blog posts are still free.

Consultations

I do love personal consultations.

I talk to people as far away as New Zealand, Hawaii and the Phillipines thanks to the wonders of the web. Oh and my friend next door pops in for an update every now and then. If you come in person, you do get a cup of tea and possibly a biscuit, as well as an astrological conversation, of course, but most people consultations take place via Skype or FaceTime.
