I write this, the day before May Day. Tonight is Walpurgis Nacht or Beltane, one of the four festivals that mark the most intense point of a season, and which take place at the four fixed signs of the Zodiac — Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius. Now, spring is springiest.

I glance out at my garden filled with flowers: pink-tipped apple, white pear, white and purple lilac, some late japanese quince, a strange rust colour; my neighbour’s glorious pink and white beauty bush, acid green euphorbia, and a lone, magenta rose.

We are deep in the world of earthy, Venus-ruled Taurus, the sign of gardeners and farmers, the sign of lushness and the earth’s sensual awakening. Think of the optimism and grace of a those blossoms returning each year, fresh and new on that gnarly apple tree.

This year, Venus moves slowly, as she emerges from here purdah. Indeed, not until May 18 will she leave the shadow of retrograde. Nurture those Venusian values — beauty, harmony, peace — while she regains her strength.

Horoscopes

These monthly horoscopes have been called "the most thorough and visually exciting" on the web -- by my Mum (just kidding). I can't remember who said that actually, but thanks. To see and read what we're talking about and to find out how to subscribe, click more below.

In order to fund this site, I will be charging from now on, but I'm sure you'll find the fee reasonable. Obviously, blog posts are still free.

Consultations

Consultations

I do love personal consultations.

I talk to people as far away as New Zealand, Hawaii and the Phillipines thanks to the wonders of the web. Oh and my friend next door pops in for an update every now and then. If you come in person, you do get a cup of tea and possibly a biscuit, as well as an astrological conversation, of course, but most people consultations take place via Skype or FaceTime.
