A Cosmic Day of Back-to-Back Talks

Monday January 2nd 2017
Medieval Astrologers

I have been trying to find the identity of the lovely picture of medieval astrologers, but to no avail. If you can identify it, please let me know.

This is just a reminder that on Saturday I’ll be giving a talk in Trinity College, Oxford entitled How the @£@$*(^* Did We Get Here and participating in a panel discussion about the year ahead.

There are four other excellent speakers on the day, including Anton D’Abreu (from Cycles of History on Transits), Israel Ajose (on Earth Houses), Pamela Armstrong (on Feminism) and Louise Hutson (on Renaissance astrologer William Lilly). It’s quite a packed schedule.

The Oxford Astrology Group would like to encourage as many people to come as possible, so even if your knowledge of astrology is tenuous, come along for the day and get a flavour of just how varied and rigorous different approaches are.

  1. Angelena Boden says:

I’m looking forward to it! Where’s best to park?

    • Christina says:

So glad you are coming. You can either do Park and Ride from one the lots around the ring road. These are well marked as you drive in, and the bus ride is about 10 minutes. Or you can cough up quite a lot and park in the underground carpark at Gloucester Green, which is close. I am not sure how much it is for the day, but it is bound to be a lot (Oxford parking rates are insane). On the other hand, it is dead convenient and when you leave you just jump in and go.

  2. AB1 says:

Think I’ll take the train. I’m in Worcestershire. Thanks

  3. Angelena Boden says:

Fantastic day of talks even though some of it was too advanced for me? thank you Christina for this. It was good to meet you in person and engage with like minded people. I learned so much.

    • Christina says:

Thank you for coming Angelena — I didn’t get a chance to say bye, but I’m sending you a virtual abrazo.

It was a really great day — and a personal breakthrough for me

  4. Fabian Leonardo says:

the image is known as: “Twelve pagan astrologers (including the poet Virgil and the philosophers Seneca and Aristotle) immersed in the interpretation of the stars”. Taken from “Book of oracles in rhyming couplets”, Central Germany, 14th century.
